Questions
Will my photos be uploaded?
No. Conversion happens in your browser. Your photos are not sent to a server.
Why does the first conversion take a moment?
Safari can often open HEIC directly. In other browsers, a converter of about 1.3 MB is downloaded the first time you convert a file, then reused.
Do the JPGs keep the date and location?
Not reliably. The picture is redrawn to produce the JPG, which usually drops metadata. Check the result with the Remove photo location tool before you share it.
What if a HEIC file contains several pictures?
Each picture is saved as its own JPG, numbered -1, -2 and so on, when the converter can read them.
