How to crop an image

Questions
Will my photo be uploaded?
No. Cropping happens in your browser, and the file never leaves your device.
Why is a circle crop saved as PNG?
A circle needs transparent corners, and JPG has no transparency. PNG keeps them.
Does cropping reduce quality?
The output is the original pixels inside the frame, with no scaling. JPG and WebP are saved again at quality 0.92, which adds a little loss.
Can I rotate the photo first?
Yes. Rotate 90° turns the photo clockwise. Reset returns to the original photo, shape and frame.
