Questions
How do I convert miles to kilometres?
Multiply the miles by 1.609344. A mile is exactly 1,609.344 metres, so 10 miles is 16.09344 km.
Why are US and UK gallons different?
A US gallon is 3.785411784 litres and a UK (imperial) gallon is 4.54609 litres. The UK gallon is about 20% bigger, so the same volume is a smaller number of UK gallons.
What is the difference between KB and KiB?
A kilobyte (KB) is 1,000 bytes and a kibibyte (KiB) is 1,024 bytes. Some operating systems show binary sizes with the decimal label, so a 1 TB drive can be reported as about 931 GB.
Is a cup 236.6 ml or 240 ml?
Both are used. The US customary cup is 236.6 ml, or 8 US fluid ounces. Nutrition labels use a 240 ml cup, which is about 1.4% larger, so check which one a recipe means.
