Questions
Which characters are removed?
Zero-width space, zero-width non-joiner and joiner, word joiner, byte-order mark, soft hyphen, left-to-right and right-to-left marks, bidi embedding and isolate controls, and other format and control characters. Tabs and line breaks are kept.
Why are some spaces replaced rather than removed?
No-break spaces and other odd spaces look like normal spaces, so each one becomes a normal space. Removing them would join words together.
Will emoji still work?
Yes. With Keep joiners inside emoji on, the joiner between the parts of a family or profession emoji is kept, so it still shows as one picture. Turn that option off to remove every joiner.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Cleaning runs in your browser and the text is not stored.
