Questions

Why does text from a PDF break into short lines?

A PDF stores each printed line separately, so copying it keeps the line breaks of the page. The fix joins the lines of each paragraph and keeps blank lines as paragraph breaks.

What does the hyphen fix do?

A word split with a hyphen at the end of a line, and continuing in lower case on the next line, is joined back together. A real hyphen at a line end, as in a well-known phrase, is joined too, so untick that box if your text has those.

What does removing page numbers do?

It is off by default. When it is on, lines that hold only a number, such as 12 or Page 12 of 40, are removed, so a line that is only a year would go too.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. Cleaning runs in your browser and the text is not stored.
