Questions

How does the comparison work?

It compares the lines with a longest-common-subsequence method, then highlights the changed words in lines that were replaced. Pairs of texts that are too large are refused, so the page does not freeze.

What do Ignore whitespace and Ignore case do?

Ignore whitespace treats runs of spaces and tabs as a single space and ignores spaces at the start and end of lines. Ignore case treats capital and lower-case letters as the same.

What is the size limit?

Comparison is refused when the number of lines in one text multiplied by the number of lines in the other is above four million. For example, 3,000 lines against 2,000 lines is refused.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. Both texts stay on your device and are not stored.
