Why does item 10 come before item 2?
A plain alphabetical sort compares one character at a time. The character 1 comes before 2, so “item 10” sorts before “item 2”. Choose Numbers to read the digits as whole numbers, so item 2 comes first.
What does Case-sensitive change?
By default Apple and apple are treated as the same, so they sort together in the order they were pasted. With Case-sensitive on, lower-case letters sort before capitals of the same letter. Remove duplicates follows the same setting.
How is Shuffle random?
Shuffle uses the Fisher–Yates method with random numbers from crypto.getRandomValues, the browser’s cryptographic random source, so every order is equally likely. Press Shuffle again for a new order.
Is my list sent anywhere?
No. Sorting runs in your browser. The list is not uploaded or stored.
