Questions

Can it read HTML source?

Yes. Pasted HTML is read as a page: the visible text is searched, and the addresses in mailto links and the web links in href attributes are added. Scripts are not run.

Why are punctuation marks removed from the end of links?

A link at the end of a sentence often finishes with a full stop, comma or closing bracket that is not part of the address. Those are dropped, but a closing bracket that matches an opening one inside the link is kept.

How are domains found?

From every email address, the part after the @, and from every link, its host name. A leading www. is removed, so www.example.com and example.com are the same domain and count once when duplicates are removed.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The lists are built in your browser and nothing is stored.
