How to add page numbers to a PDF

    1. Drop one PDF onto the box.

    3. Press Add page numbers, then download the file ending in -numbered.pdf.

    Questions

    Will the PDF be uploaded?

No. The numbers are drawn onto a copy of the PDF inside your browser. The file never leaves your device.

Why do the numbers overlap text on my page?

The tool does not check what is already printed in the margin you choose. If a page has text near that edge, use a wider margin or another position.

Do the numbers work on sideways pages?

Yes. Each number is turned to match the page’s rotation setting, so it reads the right way up in a viewer.

What does Skip the first page do?

The cover gets no number. Numbering starts on page 2 with your start number, and the number after “of” is the last number used.
